Ancient Tragedy CPD with Dr Rosanna Omitowoju and a Performance of Ion by Euripides

Join us for this free CPD session, suitable for secondary Classics, English, & Drama teachers, including NQTs.

This CPD will combine textual work with a discussion about the lasting influence of ancient tragedy on theatre and literature today, with plenty of time to share ideas with fellow teachers.

Rosanna is a member of the Faculty of Classics, Cambridge University, and a fellow of King's College. After her undergraduate degree, she did a year of teacher training, before undertaking her PhD. At King's College she teaches Greek language and literature, and Latin. She is the author of Rape and the Politics of Consent in Classical Athens (2002) and translator of Greek Fiction: Callirhoe, Daphnis and Chloe, Letters of Chion (2011). Rosanna is passionate about teaching the Classics in ways that are accessible, fun, exciting and relevant.

After the session, we invite you to relax and enjoy Ion by Euripides – this year’s Cambridge Greek Play, a world-famous production staged every three years in the original ancient Greek with English subtitles. The ticket is included with your CPD place.
