Creative Careers & Artistic Development

We're passionate about opening pathways into the creative industries and supporting artists at every stage.

From work experience and workshops to Q&As, tours and careers days, we’re helping build skills and confidence for emerging talent and continuing creatives.

We are also working closely with local artists and organisations to create inclusive projects that reflect our community.

WORKSHOPS

We love welcoming creative professionals and people hoping to work in the creative industries into the theatre for practical workshops. These sessions give participants the chance to learn new skills, gain experience inside a working theatre and work closely with artists and industry professionals. Whether you are just starting out or building on existing experience, our workshops are designed to help people grow creatively and feel part of a supportive creative community.

On 26 June 2026 we are co-hosting two exciting workshops with Emma Rice Company:

  • Theatre Maker Taster Workshop
  • Technical Taster Workshop

Please contact Anna Day [email protected] if you would like any further information.

Theatre Maker Taster Workshop

Emma Rice Company Training Programme is offering a unique opportunity for theatre makers aged 18+.

The Emma Rice Company is one of the UK’s leading ensemble theatre companies, and the performing ensemble is a vital, professional and playful part of the family. The theatre maker taster is a free, day-long workshop. In this practical workshop members of the Malory Towers show team will introduce participants to the Emma Rice Company method. Actors, singers, musicians, dancers, directors, acrobats, clowns, and theatre-makers are all invited to apply.

Applications are now closed.

Technical Taster Workshop

26 June 2026

Come and get a real behind‑the‑scenes look at what it’s like to work backstage on an Emma Rice Company production.

You’ll hear directly from an award‑winning technical team and get a sense of the skills and teamwork that go into bringing a show to life. Whether you’re curious about show calling, mixing sound, setting props, or touring, this workshop is a great way to find out more.

We want to hear from emerging Stage Managers, Wardrobe, Sound, Lighting and AV Technicians, with an interest in touring.

Applications are now closed.
