Accessible Performances

We offer a range of captioned, audio described, relaxed and British Sign Language interpreted performances. Click on the links below to see upcoming performances.

Types of Accessible Performances

Captioned Performances - Ideal for d/Deaf or hard of hearing theatregoers. Words will appear, as they are spoken or whenever a sound is made, on screens positioned above or to the side of the stage.

Audio Described Performances - A describer will explain what is happening on stage, which is relayed through a headset for blind or partially sighted customers. Pre-show Touch Tours are also available for customers to physically feel and interact with a variety of props and costume to give them further context to what is happening on stage.

BSL Interpreted Performances - A British Sign Language interpreter will stand to the right of the stage, and interpret dialogue as it is spoken.

Relaxed Performances - Perfect for people who will benefit from a more relaxed theatre environment, for example young babies, those with an Autism Spectrum Condition, sensory/communication disorder or a learning disability. These performances allow for noise and movement within the auditorium and some technical changes to the production, such as adjustments to lighting and loud sound effects.
