Trauma Informed Practice CPD
Free CPD session delivered by Phosphoros Theatre
We’re excited to invite ESOL teachers and education professionals to a FREE CPD session on Trauma Informed Practice delivered by Phosphoros Theatre, a London-based Theatre Company of Sanctuary.
This session is designed to support reflective, compassionate practice and meaningful engagement with learners who may have experienced displacement, conflict, or other forms of trauma.
Led by Juliet Styles, Co-Artistic Director of Phosphoros Theatre, we will explore how ESOL classrooms can become spaces of safety, trust and empowerment. Through discussion, reflection and practical strategies, we’ll look at how to:
- Deepen your understanding of trauma and its impact on language learning and participation
- Recognise and respond to signs of distress in ways that are sensitive and supportive
- Develop everyday teaching practices that foster safety, agency and belonging
- Use drama, creativity and storytelling as tools for expression, confidence-building and connection
The session is suitable for ESOL teachers working in schools, colleges and community settings, as well as curriculum leads and senior practitioners.
The workshop includes opportunities to network with fellow educators and reflect collaboratively on current practice.
Spaces are limited, booking essential.
