Pay It Forward
UNLOCKING THE MAGIC OF THEATRE FOR EVERY CHILD
Each year for our pantomime, we run a subsidised ticket programme (also known as Panto Wheels) which supports children and young people who would otherwise face barriers to experiencing the performing arts. We can only do this with your help.
Cost of living pressures have doubled the number of schools cancelling trips, leaving lower-income families with fewer cultural opportunities. Our annual appeal provides subsidised tickets to schools and organisations working with:
- Children and young people with disabilities
- Low-income families
- Foster families
- Young carers
- Refugee families
From Dick Whittington and Aladdin to last year’s Cinderella, children are enchanted by the colourful characters, vibrant sets, catchy songs and slapstick humour of a festive pantomime. For many, this is their very first visit to a theatre. We hope that the experience of live performance will spark a lifelong love of the arts.
At The Arts Theatre our aim is simple: every primary-aged child in Cambridge should experience the magic of live theatre.
“Our school has a high level of disadvantage and many of our children are highly vulnerable: for them, to be able to visit the pantomime and have the experience they had today will be something they will remember for a long time.”
