Major Giving

A world-class city needs world-class theatre. Your support can help us make this vision a reality.

Cambridge is where centuries of discovery have helped us understand our lives, and where centuries of art and creativity have filled those lives with meaning and joy. Nearly ninety years ago, our founder believed that a trailblazing city deserved a groundbreaking theatre — and we stay true to his vision today.

Philanthropy has always played a vital role in maintaining The Arts Theatre as a vibrant and inclusive venue. With your support, we can confidently stage breathtaking productions, improve accessibility for all, and provide innovative opportunities for arts engagement within our community.

If you are interested in supporting us with a major gift, either personally or through a family trust, please contact our Head of Major Gifts, Will Handysides, at development@artstheatre.co.uk.

CREATIVE LEARNING & ENGAGEMENT

Our auditorium redevelopment has created an unmissable opportunity to develop a revitalised and ambitious programme of learning and engagement for our community. We are focused on establishing our theatre as a place to bring people together and to discover and develop new talent. Your support will ensure that our much-loved institution remains at the heart of Cambridge culture for generations to come.

THEATRE OF SANCTUARY

Our goal is to achieve Theatre of Sanctuary status, establishing The Arts Theatre as a welcoming and safe space for asylum seekers and refugees. Through participation and engagement, we aim to ease loneliness, break down barriers between communities, and enhance wellbeing.

A TRANSFORMATIVE REDEVELOPMENT

A new studio theatre will be the home for daring new drama and local voices, and a space where aspiring theatre-makers can find their feet and flourish. Your support can shape the future of the arts in Cambridge.

SCHOOLS AND YOUNG PEOPLE

Our aim is that every primary-aged child in Cambridge can experience live theatre before secondary school. We also seek to deliver theatre-based interventions that support skills development and employability, while raising awareness of creative careers.
